Aliénore goes to Angers

Last week I had to go to France to sort out boring adult stuff. I asked Aliénore if she wanted to travel with me.

"Angers? Angers? Is this a place full of angry people?"she asked.

So I explained that this was the name of my home town that I hadn't seen for a whole year . "You don't pronounce Angers as in angry but as in angel (Angers=anjé)"I corrected.

So Aliénore decided she would travel with me and was very excited to go to France for the very first time.

She was so excited to go on the Eurostar.

And 2 hours later we were in Paris in a taxi going to another station where we had to catch another train.

We drove past the Louvres and the glass Pyramid. Aliénore insisted that I took this picture to show you because she loves art so much.

Once at Montparnasse, Aliénore had been such a good doll that she was rewarded with a little ride on a carousel.

Then we jumped on the train and 1 hour and 30 minutes later we were in my beloved town.

An exhibition of Nikki de Saint Phalle at the Museum of Arts.

Something weird in the window of an art gallery.

Here is the gigantic medieval chateau of Angers ( built in 1230).

This is La Maison d'Adam( built circa 1500), and on the other picture you can see a very naughty detail that made Aliénore laugh a lot."Take a picture!" she said. She still can't stop giggling when she looks at this photo...naughty Aliénore!

Well, we just stayed 2 days, but it was the best 2 days I had in a loooooong time! How good it was to see my beautiful town again. But even good things have to end sometimes and we had to go back to England where my new life is.

Then, once back in England, there were 2 surprises waiting for me, a bad one and a good one:

1)-My adorable cat had decided it was time to fall asleep and never wake up again.Maybe she knew we were in Angers and wanted to be part of the angel town. She was going to be 18.The greatest cat in the world! (won't talk too much about her...)

2)-Edward ( thanks for the name KIM!) couldn't wait to show us what he discovered in the garden:

DAFFODILS!

Life goes on...

Hugs to you for the passing kitty. :(

When we were in Normandy, my daughter bought a lamb at the stop and go, there are lambs all around there, then we had the lamb in pictures at all of the important places in Paris. Too cute.

Glad you and she enjoyed the trip, even if she is a touch naughty. ;)

Sorry that your cat went to sleep forever.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Angers. It looks to be a beautiful town, although the men there are very naughty, it seems!

And as you say, life goes on....

Aliénore and you had a great time...
(... that climbing boy is wierd! :)) )
I´m sorry for your cat - but 18 years is a nice age for a cat.

My cat went to eternal sleep when we were on holidays too, a long time ago. So he is a veteran in Neverland. He will take care of your cat. He is very brave , has only 1 eye and is called Moshe. He will find her :).

Thank you and Alienore for the trip. Your train ride brings back memories :).

Gros bisous.
Geneviève

Patricia, for some reason, I'm unable to load pics on some of the blogs today. Not sure why. But I will be sure and come back by to see this. I've been MIA because I've been without computer access and will be again for a couple of weeks. But as soon as I return, I will be sure and visit you. I love to come here. Chloe sends kisses...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Thank you so so much for sharing photos of your home town and Alienores first visit to Paris, it brought back memories for me. I went to Paris for the first time last year and recognized some of the tourist places.

Sorry to read that you lost your beautiful furry friend. Thank you for sharing such an angelic photo too, an image that will remain with me - very powerful.

Your fun post reminds me of the photos that I took of 'flat Terran' (made by my Godchild) who traveled with me to Oz. I'll try to post a few on my blog as well.

I too am sorry to hear that your kitty decided it was time to rest. That is a special kind of pain...filled with love from all the wonderful years you have. It is the hardest thing about sharing this world with things we care about, but I have always believed it is worth the cost. Peace and blessings to you as you deal with this transition.

My other reason for posting today is that I need you to send me your mailing address so I can send you your One World One Heart goodie now that I'm back home!

I had a kitty who also reached 18 years, she was called Stripy and was from a feral mum, but was the sweetest, best natured pussy cat imaginable. And our 14 year old boy cat went last November. So I know how it feels to say goodbye to a much loved cat. It looks like you and Alienore had a lovely brief visit to France - there is no place like original home, how ever happy you are with your new home.
Welcome Spring!
